A sensational and perfectly crafted
McKee Platero Navajo silver and Kingman turquoise cuff bracelet, 2021
Attention must immediately be paid here; the moment you first lay eyes on this beauty, it grabs you by the eyeballs and you simply can’t look away. The great Master’s extraordinary and incomparable touch is all over every inch of this bracelet, it’s got everything that makes McKee Platero’s silver work so unbelievably and uniquely great. Start with its heavy duty construction, everything made exactly as it should be, weighty and intense thick silver shank, perfectly and precisely decorated with an extraordinary display and array of perfectly executed repoussees, stampwork, chisel work and rare rocker-engraving literally out the wazoo, no one else can do it even remotely like this and all this within a restrained and elegant, yet artistically extravagant and dynamic overall design presentation.
Superlatives really fail here, all one can really say is the one word that perfectly sums it all up and that is simply “WOW”. This guy is just on another planet good, just totally out of this world. As you can plainly see here, this piece is so precious looking, it literally glows, vibrating with an almost otherworldly beauty. As a fine and final finishing touch, the silver bracelet is beautifully set with four matching gorgeous high-grade triangularly-shaped Kingman, Arizona spiderweb turquoise stones placed in a beautiful alignment within the overall design. The stones are all set in heavy-duty old-style “foldover” type silver bezels.
The bracelet measures 1 1/2" in continuous width all the way around. The inner circumference end-to-end is 5 7/8" and the gap between the terminals is 1 1/4" for a total interior circumference of 7 1/8". The bracelet weighs a very solid and serious, yet quite comfortable 119 grams or 4 3/4 ounces. The silver shank is 1/16" in thickness. The bracelet is properly and beautifully signed "McKee A. Platero" and is also dated "June 19, 2021" in Platero’s lovely cursive script engraved on the interior. The bracelet is also marked with Platero’s customary three stars in a row hallmark and there is also a small artistic doodle to the right of the signature; a nice whimsical creative touch that Platero sometime includes along with his signature. The bracelet is in completely excellent condition overall with a very small amount of wear and some original tooling marks in evidence, but there are
no damages at all in evidence.
There’s not really a whole lot more to say here except that this is a rare opportunity to become one of
the few, the fortunate and the proud to own a piece of this particular brand of greatness. This is the type of powerful compelling piece which could very easily become your one and only go to, the one you wear every day and do not feel complete without.
You will, as the Navajo people say, always “Walk in Beauty” with this one on your person.
You will be surrounded by greatness at every step of the way.

Kingman Turquoise
Copper mining in the Mineral Park Mining District around Kingman has produced a large supply of turquoise through the years. The Kingman mine re-opened in September 2004 after being closed since the 1970’s. About 95% of Kingman is stabilized which makes it very affordable. The remaining 5% of the Kingman turquoise stays in its natural state. High-grade Kingman turquoise is medium to dark blue color and frequently flecked with pyrite and sometimes quarts. In its high-grade form it has always been considered among the top quality turquoise. The best Kingman being produced today is deep blue with black matrix with some being spider web.
